Basic Disaster Life Support (BDLS): (Offered in conjunction with University of Missouri EMS)
Basic Disaster Life Support is a product of an academic consortium and promoted by the American Medical Association. BDLS is an 8 hour didactic program designed to teach the core concepts of disaster management including:
D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R Paradigm – A standardized method to recognize and manage the scene and care for victims; Natural Disasters; Traumatic and Explosive Events; Nuclear and Radiologic Events; Biological Events; Chemical Events; Psychological Aspects; and Public Health Implications of Disasters.
